I served dinner as usual tonight. We were at Mom and Dad's so it was a little bit different but business as usual for the most part. I set down Allison's in front of her first, then Sarah's, then Joel and I got ours ready. In the hub-bub I expected Allison to dig into her food before we prayed because she is only 1 and doesn't always understand prayers come first. But as we all settled into our spots I looked over and Allison hadn't touched her food and had folded her arms, waiting expectantly. Joel and I both looked at eachother and smiled.
We asked Sarah if she would like to say prayers to which she eagerly replied, "Sure!" So we all folded our arms and she prayed in gratitude for the beautiful day and for our good food. It was the first time my dad has heard her pray aloud and I think he was very surprised. I love my girls. I love that even though I'm not actively teaching, they are actively learning. I am grateful that, for the most part, I don't need to worry about my own behavior influencing them for the negative. Keeping the commandments and fulfilling the expectations of my Heavenly Father keeps me accountable and worthy of being my children's mother.

Wow...that is beautiful. Amazing. I'll bet your dad was one big puddle. One simply cannot resist the beauty, simplicity, and honesty of a child's pure little spirit. "And a little child shall lead them..."
Can your girls give my kids a lesson?! We still have to remind our kids not to eat until we've prayed and they both usually still sneak at least one bite in!
You do have such amazing little girls! They can really teach some of us older ones how to be respectful, obedient, and loyal to our God! Good job you two on raising them up right!
