Sleeping Child = Time for Mom

Update to last night's snow fiasco - it kept snowing, and it did stick on the roofs (rooves? that's not right but roofs sure doesn't look right either!) although the roads seemed to maintain alright. Today it has been hailing like crazy. I spent most of the day at Mom and Dad's house watching the newest little nephew. I am just practicing for maybe one day when I have two little ones to watch out for.

Sarah is sleeping quietly downstairs and I am laying on my bed catching some much needed relaxation before the dinner rush sets in. Tonight I will be making double dinner, making enough for our linger longer dinner potluck at church tomorrow. For those of you who don't know, our church runs three hours on Sundays. In our ward on the third Sunday of the month we all stay after and have a big potluck dinner together. It's one of my favorite activities because 1) cooking a huge meal after church is overwhelming sometimes and 2) I love our church friends!

Tonight's dinner is Quinoa with Black Beans. If you haven't tried quinoa it is a nutty grain from South America. It's nutrient packed and a great alternative to the same old, same old rice. I love that it maintains a slight crunch after cooking, similar to wild rice. Quinoa grains are itty bitty little roundish disks. I butchering the description I am sure, but they are TASTY! Sarah has just awoken from her nap so I will leave the blog as is, but possibly I will take pictures of the dinner tonight and post the recipe for all to enjoy.

Oh...dear sweet Jenna... I am happy to see that you too have been pressured into doing a blog!! I have had quite a little fun prettying mine up...it is time consuming though and so it sits with some music and things to say I play along. I had to ask lots of people how to do music and baby counters and such so it has been a learning adventure as well.
We sure had fun at your house last week. I thouroughly enjoy you and your family (hopefully I like your husband- since I can't disown him :)Haha)
I am with you on the seasonal confusion, is this an el nino year or something?? Love ya. Jennis
