Over the last few months I've become more and more serious about our family's need for an adequate supply of emergency/long term foods. I was on our stake cannery blog and found a fantastic resource for determining just how much the food I have will last us! It's easy to register for and super easy to use. I inputted me, Joel, Sarah, and Allison's age and sex then the calculator told me how many calories we need to consume altogether each day. Then you go and input how much you have of each thing and it tells you how many days your storage will last! It's pretty sweet. I put in just the things I could remember off the top of my head and we'll have enough for all four of us for 45 days! I can't wait to see how much we have when I get the official inventory of our food storage written down.
I'm going to be using this tool frequently, I'm pretty sure. Ooh! One more thing it does - you can enter in personalized information for products that aren't listed in the calculator! So if you want to add 'Spaghetti-o's' as a product, you can. Pretty dang sweet. Check it out...I have a feeling I'll be spending lots of time on this one.

This is awesome! There is also a website for Walton Foods that has an incredible list of things you can order. If you want to go together on an order some day let me know.Oh, and your notes on 10 years? Very wise... and you WILL wonder where they went!! I love you.
