Moving on...
I'm spoiled rotten. I realized it again today. I realize it sometimes when the girls or Joel do something profound. Today I realized it again whenever Sarah said, 'Okay Mom.' or Allison listened and did what I asked her to do. What more could a mother want?
I also realized how amazingly lucky I am to have a best friend for a husband AND a best friend in a woman with whom I've experienced the gauntlet of emotions over the years. I got to have my best girlfriend Sarah over (aka Squirrel aka Aunty Squirrelpants aka Aunty Panties) for a visit. We hit the Farmer's Market then came home and napped the girls. While the girls slept we indulged in some good ole' fashioned girl talk.
One of my favorite things about my friend Sarah is that she is more grounded than a lot of people out there. She is conscious of those around her. She is a believer in life and experiencing it fully. She is a listener. She is a talker. She is strong, loving, and compassionate. Sarah has seen me through some of the most difficult times of my life and we've laughed together during some of the best. I love that we can go weeks without talking (as much of a bummer as that is) and yet still come together like no time has passed. It's a beautiful thing. I'm thankful that Joel and I both have such lasting and enduring relationships with our friends.
One of Joel's best buddies, Chris, is here tonight. (Along with his other best buddy/cousin Troy) They were playing around the garage and Chris got bored so he crafted a 'poor man's weed whacker'. Essentially it was a plate of metal that he had sharpened all the edges on. Then he tacked the plate to a pole. It looks like a giant hoe/golf club. They cleared our hillside and trimmed the ivy along the driveway. Again, I'm spoiled with such creative and handy friends! :)
And while all of this was happening I was SUPPOSED to be preparing for a YW lesson but instead I decided to finish reading my Nookbook. It was yet another good freebie. Love me my freebies. Overall, a fantastic Saturday. Should be another great day tomorrow that will hopefully be filled with more sunshine!
