I'm not sure why I need to document this. Oh wait, I remember now. So here's the story:
This past week has been a bit stressful. I worked three Weight Watchers meetings AND had court on Wednesday. (Some of you may know, some may not, but I got a ticket for talking on my cell phone back on my BIRTHDAY.) I was only mitigating the ticket but I was a nervous wreck. We are also changing locations for work and doing a complete inventory so those are added stresses. We are also having two family reunions two weeks in a row. One I'm going to with my mom and sister and it's only in Olympia but the other is for Joel's family and it's all the way in Cle Elum. We won't be making that one since Joel couldn't get the time off of work, but his Mama and Dad understand so we're okay there. But it doesn't make it any easier missing our family.
So, there's a lot on my mind on top of the daily life stuff. On Monday I developed some stiff muscles in my back (it happens, Joel always reminisces back to when we were planning our wedding as the 'beginning'). By Tuesday the pain had traveled to my neck and by Wednesday morning I was having trouble with my left eye. I thought it would go away by Wednesday night since that would mean court would be over but I was wrong. It got worse. It hit it's peak last night when I couldn't even bare to see out my left eye. I went to bed with some painkillers in my system and they barely took the edge off the pain.
When I woke up this morning I lay on my couch and told the girls I wasn't feeling well. I described the pain in my eye and shoulder and neck. Sarah was quick to respond. "Mom, just lay down. Allison and I will take care of you. You need to rest your neck." So we sat on the couch, we sat there we three. We got through Curious George and both the girls wanted breakfast. I asked Sarah if she saw any boxes of cereal on the counter left out that she could reach. She went and checked and reported none. Then she asked, "Mom? What are you having to eat? You like eggs. I can make you eggs and dad can help me." I had to remind her that dad was at work. Her face fell in disappointment. Then I got up to get them each a bag of cereal when I heard Allison calling from the couch, "Mama!! Mama!! LAY DOWN RIGHT HERE!! REST!!" Oh dear, I am loved.
The pain is getting better. I popped the maximum recommended dose of Ibuprofen all day and I think that brought some of the inflammation down. My heating pads have been helping also. Tonight I hope for even better sleep. The day promises to be an adventure tomorrow and I'm happy to get to visit with family.
