Funny Things They Say...

I had a play date at my house today and my two friends and I were talking about what silly things our kiddo's say. It seems like I've encountered more than my usual share of funny kid quotes lately - thought I'd share!

"You are as pretty as a unicorn." - Ethan said that to me after I said he needed to say something nice to me before I gave him some sort of treat.

Joel to Sarah: "Do you like riding in the truck?" Sarah's response, "Yup, I can see better!" (because she gets to sit right in front).

Sarah interrupting Nana telling me a dream she had: "It's about me!" and then she'd repeat it every time Mom tried to finish her story.

Sarah to me at lunch, eating tomato soup from a can: "Mama, it's delicious!"

Sarah on her fake phone in the car: "Oh, hi Steve, I talk to Blue?" (Steve would be the guy from Blue's Clues, Blue would be the puppy)

Sarah, behind the racks at the maternity clothing store, AT THE TOP OF HER LUNGS: "Mama! I'm POOPING!"

One morning Sarah told me all about Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat and how they got lost on the buses and dropped their pictures and rode on a horse...this was a real episode of Curious George and it took me a minute or two to realize she was indeed rehashing the whole show.

And lastly, Joel was slightly choked up last night as he left a little before her bedtime to go help some friends with their car when he said good bye to Sarah. He leaned over the tub and gave her a kiss and she looked up at him and said, "I love you Daddy." Without any prompting or I love you to start. It's not silly, but it's what makes every thing in life seem so small compared to the joy and happiness found in your own child.
