a new frontier

So this will be quick because I am going to watch a friend's kiddos for a bit tonight...but I wanted to share something with my future self and the blogosphere.  Allison has always proved to be my more stubborn and erratic baby.  Sarah was a yes-girl and still is while Allison has always been a no-girl.  Well, the last few weeks I've really seen this blossoming side of Allison.  We have real conversations.  She is a comic.  She is logical, and loving, and funny, and sweet, and fun.  It was like she hit her half birthday and all of a sudden three and a half is the magic number.  She is maturing into this sweet girl.  I find myself craving time to be alone with her so I can concentrate and completely absorb this sweetness.  When she wakes up from her nap we snuggle on the couch and have real live conversations about real stuff.  We're not talking about the concept of gravity or death or anything important - but we're talking and she's listening and participating and she isn't throwing a fit or screaming or trying to run away.  I'm so excited for this new phase for us - it's really amazing.
