trying something new

Okay, in an effort to be both more mindful of the budget AND increasing my posting on this here blog - I'm going to attempt being accountable for my meal planning this month.  I am going to plan out the next two weeks of meals to see if I help the food budget a little bit more if I know what I'm making up until we get paid again...

A few people requested that I post my plans for inspiration and recipes - so here goes.  :)  I will link to the recipe if it's one I got off the internet or if I can remember where it came from.  Otherwise if you want to know how to make it you can always message me!

Some recipes will have the letters FM before it.  That stands for freezer meal and it means that I have made it sometime ago and it's simply a matter of heating it up and adding some side dishes if necessary!

April 9-24
T 9 - FM Teriyaki Chicken with Rice and Green Smoothies
W 10 - Cream Cheese Chicken Enchiladas (will make 3 or more batches worth and freeze extras)
R 11 - Johnny Marzetti Noodles (may make extra sauce to freeze)
F 12 - Dinner on the run (most likely sandwiches, crackers, yogurt for the girls)
S 13 - Gluten-Free Cheesy Veggie "Pasta" Bake with Ultimate Chicken Fingers
S 14 - Dinner with family?
M 15 - Beef Tips with Noodles and Green Salad
T 16 - Breakfast for dinner: Pancakes and Smoothies
W 17 - FM Stuffed Shells and Green Salad
R 18 - Asian Chicken Coleslaw Salad
F 19 - Shepherd's Pie
S 20 - Three Sisters Soup and Green Salad (can you guess the veggie my children prefer?!)
S 21 - Hot dogs (or sausages since I have some frozen from a ROCKIN' deal!), french fries, SALAD
M 22 - FM Cream Cheese Chicken Enchiladas
T 23 - Leftovers/Scavenge for yourself
W 24 - FM Sweet and Sour Chicken with Rice and Green Smoothies

Okay, so there you have it.  There may be leftover nights, spontaneous Papa Murphy nights, cereal nights...anything goes when you are raising a family.  But this is the ideal, I suppose.  :)

I'm impressed that you have so many freezer meals prepared! Now that I'm not doing it as a Relief Society activity I almost never make them anymore.
