The past few days have been trying for me. I am still not feeling well but the doctor has assured me it is no sinus infection. I'm going on two weeks and two days of this cold. Sarah had a re-occurrence of her ear infection and I think she's been picking up some screaming habits in nursery. I've felt like the past few days have been a constant battle with her. Last night, I poured my guts out to Joel and he assured me it wouldn't last forever. And it's true. This morning I woke up with renewed energy and faith that I could be the mom I want to be and Sarah could be a better kid for me because of it. So, while she naps (and I avoid working out) I am making a list of those things that make me happy.
Happiness is...
- Waking up before Sarah and having a few moments of quiet peace.
- Visiting Teaching appointments.
- Phone calls from old friends.
- Having my prayers answered.
- Service projects.
- Watching Golden Girls with Joel.
- Joel laughing harder at Golden Girls than me.
- Gardening.
- Looking at old photos.
- Doing crafts.
- Asking Sarah a question and hearing her say, "Ahh, yes."
- Conversations with Mom and Jaimee.
- Seeing Joel's smiling face after a great day.
- Thinking about having another baby.
- Being totally out of breath after a really great run.
- Working out so hard that it hurts to walk upstairs.
- Going to the temple with Joel.
- Understanding who I am and where I've come from.
- Knowing Joel loves me more than anything.
- Summer days, windows rolled down, listening to great music in the car.
- Sarah sleeping soundly in my arms.
- Going to the beach.
- Fishing.
- Sipping hot cocoa in a coffee shop.
- People watching.
- Reading a great book.
- Studying.
- Naps.
- Political Conspiracy Movies. (The Bournes, Breach etc...)
- Feeling a little one kicking around my belly.
- Quiet dinners with my husband.
- Laying in the sunshine.
- Family.

That's a good list... Nice and long which means you are good at recognizing your blessings and also enjoying the little things. Both the secrets to a good life. Joel has a good laugh I can see him being fun to watch Golden Girls with.
Ahhh Sarah... She is a fireball which brings the funnest moments yet is the most trying for a parent. To tell you the truth it is nice to hear that you struggle cause you always seem sooo upbeat like there is nothing that gets you down and for a girl like me that is just frusterating. your doing a great job!! I have found much comfort in confiding in others about my struggles. keep up the good work. Love ya!!
