An update on my child goes a little something like this: Sarah woke up a few times with a yelp or two through out the night. She went right to sleep afterwards so that was definitely encouraging. When our little girl woke up (at 8:30am) she was so snuggly and didn't want to leave my arms. Her nose was stuffy so I was thinking it was a little bit of a cold and exhaustion that was causing her sadness.
I brought her to Mom's house where I fed her some toast and put her down for a nap. I was motivated to run two miles on Mom's treadmill while she slept so that was superb! Sarah slept for 2 1/2 hours. When she woke up Mom noticed some little things Sarah was doing that I didn't pick up on. Apparently she was exhibiting numerous ear infection symptoms. I took her into the doctor and it was confirmed - double ear infection. Thank goodness for my mom. My poor little girl would have been MISERABLE tonight. So she is well soothed with Tylenol and antibiotics are currently working away at her angry cells in her body. Kudos that she went to sleep with no fuss tonight.
On a more random note: I don't know if everyone knows this but I have a secret love. I love my family and my church and friends, but this secret love does fall in my top ten favorite things. I love The Golden Girls. Yes, I have 4 of 7 seasons on DVD and if anyone needs birthday or Christmas ideas - completing the collection is a dream of mine. I watch it almost every night before I go to sleep. Joel has reluctantly started to like them as well.
I'm upstairs ready to take over the laundry pile and I turned on the TV to find Entertainment Tonight starting. I don't EVER watch this show. Honestly I could care less that Jessica Alba had her baby. I am not that thrilled about her acting so being thrilled about ET being the first to report it at 3:44am is not on my top list of exciting things. BUT just as I was going to change the channel I see my girls on tv. Yes, they are going to show a reunion that happened with three of the four stars of Golden Girls. Bea Arthur, Rue McClanahan, and Betty White all reunited for some event (what, I'm not sure - I'm still waiting for the segment) and I am so excited for the update. Yes, I'm a huge nerd. But there is something about the show that brings me back to spending the evenings with my grandma in California. And it's definitely classic humor.
I can't blame motherhood for my love of Golden Girls. I have loved them for years. And I hope I always will. (Should I be too embarassed to admit that?)

I am a slight fan of the Golden Girls (my girls used to watch them all the time). Now that I AM a golden girl, I like them even more. I am a little surprised you own the dvds! I heard about your blog and was excited to read it!
OOOOO... you have a secret anonymous bloggers... I like that you are true to the nerd in you and admit you like the Golden Girls, we all have something don't we?!! Lucas got a fever Sunday evening after Church and Jacey got the fever today at Costco. I got home and took her temp. she was 103.0 so she voluntarily laid down for a nap AFTER she fell asleep in the car. Poor sickies!! I wrote more on my blog.
OMG - you and Kristen both! She is OBSESSED with the Golden Girls. I'm going to email her this post.
I mean...what's not to like? Blanch the sleeze-bag, Dorothy the witty/sensible one, Rose the ding-bat and Sophia the REALLY, REALLY old lady.
The Catholic Church in Poulsbo is called St. Olafs and every time I went to church it made me laugh. I half expected Rose to be there!
