I'm pretty much just going to sum up today in this post because it's turned out to be a really great day for all of us involved. Mainly I mean Sarah and I and Joel. Joel worked today and I needed to go to the mall so I could get my engagement/wedding rings checked and my warranties validated. While at the mall Sarah noticed (okay, okay, I pointed it out) the Easter Bunny setup for pictures. I told Sarah that if we were there long enough we could watch the Easter Bunny and all the kiddos. Shortly there after she said, "THERE HE IS!" and she pointed a stuffed bunny in a store window. I giggled to myself and thought, if you think THAT is good, just wait til the larger than life bunny comes around!
We did stay long enough for the Easter Bunny to come back from the carrot patch (aka break time) and Sarah was absolutely enthralled with it. She kept asking to sit with him and pet him. "He's furry!" she said. She tugged at my heartstrings enough that I caved and spent the 'more money than it's really worth' to get her picture done. I needed an Easter picture anyway and this seemed very convenient, not to mention cute. So, with no smile, just a slightly amused look on her face we took four different shots and chose our favorite one. She loved it and loves looking at the pictures. If anything I feel like it's something fun we've done and sometimes I feel like I am not always very good at doing 'fun' things.
After dinner, Sarah was thrilled for sunshine and the chance to play outside. I went out with her and Joel and worked on weeding the strawberry and raspberry area. I found about 7 or 8 worms for Sarah which she loved showing off to Joel and his buddy Lucas. She'd lose them after a while (leaving them to 'nap' and not being able to find them when she got back to 'wake them up') so I would just give her another one to play with. About an hour after we started our weeding she started to tear up and call for me. Apparently we'd waited just a bit too long to ask if she needed to go potty...so I brought her inside for a quick bath before bed. I got her hands washed of obvious dirt, took all her clothes off and threw her in the tub. I ran to grab her clean sheets out of the dryer and came back down to the bathroom and found a worm in the tub. Yes...a worm. I nearly barfed a little in my mouth. Sarah had no idea it was in there so she didn't consciously bring it in there. So, I fished it out of the water and threw it back in the garden - but the question remains - how did the worm make it into the bath? I'm hoping it was just tangled in her hair...I cringe to think of the other methods of transport...yikes!
My last story, and the one that made me laugh the hardest today, is about our missionaries and their visit here tonight. Joel and I count our blessings everyday when it comes to having such great missionaries in our ward. These guys come over a few times a week and hang out in the evenings and are always willing to help out where we need them. We are dreading a possible transfer and the eventual trip home for them in May and July. We love having them over and they have not only been great missionaries but also fantastic friends of ours. We hope to visit them in Utah when we drive out there one day.
I digress...Joel's buddy Lucas made mention that he didn't know how to tie a tie. So one of the elders took off his tie and was teaching Lucas to tie it. Then Joel was thoroughly impressed with how the knot looked and how easy it was to undo and untie - apparently it's a double Windsor knot and Joel does something else. So we had an impromptu tie-tying lesson here and it was very cute to watch the missionaries teach these two greasy and dirty guys tie their ties. I got a few pictures of it but hesitate to post them because Lucas may find this and have my head! :) It was a fun evening and I loved the chuckles that resulted from such simple life lessons.

Well make sure you bring your camera...I wanna see those pictures. Post pictures of Sarah and the bunny!
Funny, funny, funny. We did the same thing with Jacey a couple of years ago. It just seems to be the thing to do at the time, doesn't it? I want to see it too! Oh, the simple things, a few worms, a little sunshine. We are so easy to please...
Hey Janna,
Kim says you have a video of Sarah on the zip line at their house. I want to see it!
I might have barfed a little outside my mouth if I had found that worm. Great way you held it together.
