We got to talk about real adult stuff. It seems we have successfully manuevered our college-best-friend-ship into a real life adult friendship. We are melding our lives into more common ground, it's really fun to be a part of! She's always been there for me, and continues to keep me on an even-keel though she may not always realize it.
Saturday night we went to mom and dad's to have a family dinner. Jaimee and Tim came over as well and we haven't done a big time family dinner like that in months. It was absolutely amazing to see everyone. The kids are so much fun to watch play and interact. Joel once again played 'every-kid-for-his/herself' dodgeball. The boys LOVED it! And Joel watched Sarah all night so Squirrel and I could eat dinner and chat. It was awesome.
Yesterday we got to have a visit from Joel's cousin Ted and his wife, Bonnie. They just returned from a trip to Alaska so it was nice to catch up and hear about their awesome trip full of hunting, fishing, visiting, and sight-seeing.
And today - well, today I watched little Emmet while Jaimee tries to pull through another bout with strep-throat. Emmet is the best baby ever, as Squirrel said, "Well, that's pretty easy because most of the time you hardly know he's there!" So true. Sarah slept well through out the day for me and made my life easier!
When we dropped Emmet off at Tim's work Sarah was yelling at the playground, "Mine!" on the way out. I kept saying it was the schools playground and it was not hers...then she replied finally, "No, My Baby!!" She kept pointing to the empty seat beside her and yelling, "My Baby!" I had to explain that was Aunty Jaimee and Uncle Tim's baby. Too cute.
