This is part two. This section will include Sunday's adventure and undertakings!
Sunday was the day Harley and Taylor's blessings. We were so excited to see the little ones again and just get together with everyone. Joel and I woke up at 6:15 to get packed and get Sarah up and running. With the missionaries visiting last night we weren't able to get the laundry done in time to pack the night before so we scheduled some extra time in the morning. Unfortunately we didn't schedule enough buffer time because by the time we left it was 7:15 and we still needed to swing by my mom's place for the crib.
Well, we were off and running on the road. Traffic wasn't too bad but the police were out with a vengeance. We were lucky and did not get pulled over, Joel was very careful about driving lawfully. ;) Sarah did learn to say "Po-Po" which we got a good chuckle over.
As we were getting off of I-5 and onto SR512 Joel did manage to run a stoplight. He just started rolling through the intersection after we stopped. I looked at him, amazed, and said "Uh it's red?" He looked at me sheepishly and said, "It turned green didn't it?" To which I replied, "No, it's been red the whole time." I really thought he just ran it because we were late and was trying to make it seem like he didn't. But last night he confirmed that he really was embarrassed and didn't mean to run it. So he said I could tell the story on here because he was over it. :)
Running the light didn't help our timing because we missed Taylor's blessing, all but the closing of it. But we did get to watch Harley's blessing which was absolutely precious. Joel didn't get up to be a part of the priesthood which was a bummer but we'll have lots more nieces and nephews for that opportunity I am sure.
Sunday was full of family and friends. I had a chance to mingle and talk with some of Joel's family that lives out of state. Lot's of Jennis and Justin's friends were there also and we mingled and chatted with them also. Sarah had a blast but was very tired. As things calmed down we layed her down for a nap and soon Jacey and Lucas followed. Joel and I both remarked at how awesome it was to spend some quiet time with Jennis and Justin. We loved getting to know them on more than just a family level - on a friend level too! We love you guys!
Later on Sunday we ventured to David and Tricia's house where yet another family gathering was taking place. We ate some great food and visited some more. Joel and I left after things started dissipating. We left from there to visit Chris and Kim in Tenino.
Our visit was uneventful besides getting to see Kim for the first time in a few months. It's great to have her in town! We chatted and laughed and Sarah broke stuff. All around a nice visit. We left at about 9:30, Sarah was exhausted but amazingly well behaved. I was exhausted and not so well-behaved. I let the sleepies get the best of me and they invited the grumpies...and well...you know...
We got to Joel's dad's place and slept!
This concludes Part 2 of The Weekend
