Excitement on the homefront!

The other night I had a dream about my Aunty Tina. Well, okay it was mostly about Jim, Will, and Joe but Tina was in there too. I dreamed that I was going to mow their lawn and Jim had built the lawnmower out of extra parts from their technologically advanced company products. I couldn't get the lawnmower to work. Meanwhile, Joe and Will are busily making my room ready for sleeping in. Odd dream? Yes. Significant? Kinda.

After waking up I felt like I needed/wanted to visit California. Since we've moved here, well, since my grandma died really, I haven't felt the desire to visit down there. My life is up here. But the other morning I thought, it's been a while, I'd like to go. It's been nearly 5 years since I've been there.

I thought nothing of it until my mom was saying she was thinking of going in October. That was on Saturday. The day of my dream. Coincidence? Probably. After contemplating and talking things over with her and Joel we're going to go for it! Joel will be here working but Mom and I are going to take Sarah and stay for five days. It's still up in the air whether we'll drive or fly but either way I get to go down there!

This will be the longest Joel and I have been apart since we were married in 2005 and the longest Sarah will go without seeing her Dad. It just hit me that I'll really be taking her away from Joel for five days - yikes! That makes my heart sad. Squirrel put it well though when she told me, "I know you are going to get so much out of this trip!" And it's true. I am so excited.

If you DO end up driving down, I'd like to remind you that the best seat in the mini-van is in-between the seats on the cooler. :-)

I think it's great you are making the trip down there!
