I'm beat. I ordered 25 pounds of peaches from the scout troops at church and needed to get them processed before they rotted away. I decided today was the day. Joel's mom gave me the rundown on canning peaches and it seemed fairly simple - but I was glad when my dad brought home the Ball Canning Blue Book for me. The Ball directions were the same as what I had been told but now I have it all written down. I think there were almost 30 peaches in the bundle, and I got all of them done! 3 quart sized jars, 6 pints and 3 half-pints. I'd say success.
Right now as I rest Joel is taking on yet another project. We were inspired by Joel's dad to resurface our ugly yucky colored tub in the spare bathroom. He is sanding and cleaning and removing all the hardware. It's an easy $50 project. We'd like to test it out and if it starts to flake off we'll just pull the whole new tub/shower combo in there when we remodel the whole thing. It should be fun to see the difference. Our sink, toilet, and tub are the bisque color - but really it looks more like something ya'd find in a newborn diaper. Gross!
Overall, fairly productive day. Spent most of it unpacking and running laundry. Yesterday I was out of the house so today was the day to clean up and settle in again. I'm happy to be home, Sarah is adjusting to being home and being totally exhausted, she's been a pill-bug but she's a trooper. I'm off to help Joel in the tub.
